So.....

One of my friends significant other died on Friday night. It was sudden and so far, unexplained. He was alone in a locked room. They will be doing an autopsy tomorrow. He was not only her sweety, but her financial support and her care giver. Never was that fond of him, but he made her very happy. Certainly makes me think about what would happen to me if Loren kicked the bucket suddenly....yikes.
I also had to restrain my self from running away screaming when I got the message. I cannot, CANNOT, be involved in any emotional tar babies right now. I want to help out, but I almost have a rash at the thought.

I'm so sorry :( I know you know this, and I know that we already talked about it - but I think it is worth restating, it is very important for you to pay attention to your own limits and boundaries, and your own need to heal. I know you want to fix everything and be there for everyone.

Other than figuring out life insurance, etc., I also need to sit down and come up with a serious plan for what happens when either John or I die. I keep thinking we don't need to because we don't have children or own property - but I know we still need to get this stuff organized.

Love you, seestor. I'm here if you want to talk.

Oh sweetie - I am so sorry. That feeling of "oh shit, what if THE WORST happens to me?", right after it happens to someone you know...

You know, the place where you're staying might have some hookups for estate planning, that sort of thing - I know it's not fun, but maybe they can help make it a little less forbidding and foreboding?
